Nailed It: Nightmare Before Christmas Inspired Halloween Nails

Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween Nails Nail Art

Halloween is almost here and it is definitely a holiday that I really look forward to. The Nightmare Before Christmas was one of my favorite movies growing up (and still is), so I thought I would pay homage to the cult classic with these festive black and white nails. Featuring Jack Skellington, a bat, spiderweb and stripes, this nail art is surprisingly simple and easy to achieve using just a basic white nail polish and a black nail art polish.

Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween Nail Art Tutorial

  1. Paint four fingers with three coats of Essie's Blanc (or any opaque white polish) and paint your thumb black, I used Chanel's Black Satin.
  2. Using the black nail art polish, I used Art Club's Black, outline a circle with a small square at the bottom for Jack's neck. The circle does not have to be perfect because his head is not perfectly round anyway. Fill in the perimeter with the same black.
  3. Add two dashes for his nose and a scooped horizontal strip for his mouth. Complete Jack by adding in several dashes along the mouth.
  4. For the bat, stripes and spiderweb I simply followed a similar technique using the black nail art polish. If you do not have nail art polish you can achieve the same effect by dipping a small paint brush in normal polish.
  5. Wait (awhile) for the polish to dry and apply topcoat.
