NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Pigment Review & Swatches

The NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Pigment are obviously not a new product, however I recently picked up quite a few during a sale, so I thought I would do a quick review. These are tiny jars filled with loose pigment eyeshadow. The easiest way to use them is to pour a little product out or find a brush small enough to fit inside the jar (the lid is not flat inside and therefore cannot be used). My favorite way to wear these is to use them as a pop of color along my lower lash line.

As you can see by the swatches in both lighting, Lilac and Space tend to be a little flatter than the other colors, almost as if they have a white base.

As you can see in the above photo, the MAC pigments are quite a bit softer than the NYX. Because they are both pigments, NYX has often been compared to the MAC pigments. However, they are not quite the same. The NYX pigments apply more pigmented and heavier than the MAC, making them more difficult to blend. A combination of Ocean Blue and Space may be similar to MACs Cornflower pigment and I have seen a combination of NYX Nude and NYX Oro, as well as NYX Nude and NYX Mink make a pretty good dupe for MAC Melon.
